A few weeks ago, Jacob and I were soakin’ up the sunshine and blue skies in South Carolina. We actually met with his family down there and stayed with them! His parents go every year, so they know Myrtle like the back of their hand. We had so much fun together and loved trying out a couple new places!

Resort

We stayed at Sea Watch Resort for 7 days. The rooms are super updated and very clean. There are a wide variety of rooms that you can choose from so there is definitely something for everyone. They have multiple pools, hot tubs, and there’s even a lazy river! We spent most of our time at the beach, which is our favorite. Sea Watch is almost to North Myrtle Beach, so it is a lot less crowded than the hotels & resorts more south. Super easy to find a spot on the beach, and a lot less people. Sea Watch is also more family friendly than other hotels we’ve been to! They have activities at the pool every day. One day, we looked down from our balcony and they had all the kids at the pool doing the “floss” dance, haha! So funny!

Food

Some of our favorite restaurants ever are in Myrtle Beach. One of our favorite sea food restaurants is Benjamin’s Calabash. They have all you can eat crab legs and just about anything else you could dream of. They have like 100+ items on their buffet! They are pretty pricey though, especially if you have kids. If you’re on a budget – Hooks Calabash is a close second. Their buffet also features all you can eat crab legs and is much cheaper. Another favorite buffet item of ours are their hush puppies. One word: AMAZING. They’re sweet, so they kind of taste like a cinnamon donut/hush puppy. We ate there multiple times…no regrets, hah.

For Mexican food, we used to love eating at Burro Loco. They are actually closed now, so we went on a hunt for another. Multiple people had recommended Nacho Hippo, so we decided to give it a try! They are almost always packed, so make sure you get there a little early. It was delicious! I wouldn’t say that it’s authentic Mexican food, but their nachos are pretty amazing. No complimentary chips and salsa which is always disappointing haha, but overall very good! A little pricey for Mexican food, but definitely worth it. I would suggest getting a big plate of nachos for everyone to share (one order could feed an army).

For you oriental foodies out there…Miiyabi is where it’s at. Goodness…AMAZING. Talk about a food coma. On top of your meal, they give you enough rice for a family of five. Haha, honestly. It was amazing from start to finish. They even bring out rainbow sherbet when everyone is done eating. 10/10 would recommend.

Fuddruckers is the place to go if you love burgers and milkshakes. You get massive burgers, and you get to top them with whatever you want. Theres a salad bar for your burger…amazing, I know. Their fries and onion rings are also delicious. When you finish your meal, you have to order a peanut butter cup milkshake…you won’t be sorry.

The best pizza place in all of Myrtle Beach is Ultimate California Pizza. All you need to know is to order jack bread, and a big kahouna. You’re welcome.

Krispy Kreme. In all seriousness, we eat like a dozen a day of the glazed hot and readys. If you’ve never had hot n’ ready Krispy Kremes…then you’ve never really had Krispy Kreme. They seriously melt in your mouth. Just get a dozen original glazed. You can finish them, I promise.

Kirk’s Ice Cream is hands down the best hole in the wall for hard dip. You want the Sea Salt Carmel Cheesecake on a waffle cone. No ice cream will ever taste the same after you try this…you’re welcome. Carmel deliciousness with bite sized pieces of cheesecake. Yes, please.

Entertainment

There are a ton of fun things to do while in Myrtle. You can go sight-seeing, check out dinner shows, visit museums, aquariums, helicopter rides, boat rides, and so much more. We usually just stick to the basics: mini golf and shopping. Our favorite places to shop are Barefoot Landing, Broadway at the Beach, and the Tanger Outlets. If you’re into shells and shark teeth, you also need to make a visit to pier 14. One of the best spots for looking for shark teeth. We were only looking for about an hour or so and found 30+ teeth!

Jacob and I had so much fun traveling the Carolinas with his fam, and we just might have to go again next year. Or maybe we’ll try and talk them into going somewhere new with us! We are so thankful to be able to travel the world together and try new things. Don’t get stuck in a mundane and ordinary lifestyle. Take a roadtrip, even if it’s to a campground that is 10 minutes away. Pitch a tent, and bring the mosquito spray. It honestly doesn’t matter where you travel, it’s about who you travel with. Grab your loved ones, and go make memories together. Life isn’t about collecting things. It’s about making memories with the people you love. Happy travels! God Bless!
