About McKenna

Hey guys! Thank you so much for visiting my website and getting to know a little more about me. My name is McKenna Fry. I am married to my wonderful husband, Jacob. He encourages me and inspires me in all that I do. I am truly blessed to be able to spend the rest of my life with him. I am so thankful that God brought us together! I have a huge heart, and I love people. One of my favorite things to do is to spend time with my friends and family. I love to make people smile and I love to crack jokes. My hubby and I love to travel and our favorite series to watch together is Blacklist. I have the biggest sweet tooth there is and I’m not afraid to admit it! I love love, which is why I enjoy photographing weddings and other special memories so much! I’m a firm believer in living every day like it’s your last, because tomorrow is never promised. I love meeting new people and making new friends. With that being said, I can’t wait to get to know you!

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you married?

Yes, I am! Marriage with God at the center of it all is a beautiful thing, and I am so blessed to be able to call Jacob mine. God has truly blessed me with the best (I may be a little biased).

What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?

My favorite thing to do in my free time is to travel. I love seeing the world and finding new adventures. I have been to about 15 states so far, and I plan on seeing all of them. My favorite place to travel would have to be a beach. I love warm weather, and I love the ocean. I love to feel the sand in my toes, and the sun on my face. We had a blast on our honeymoon in May! We went to Punta Cana, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Check out my travel blog to stay updated with our adventures!

What cosmetology school did you graduate from?

I graduated from beauty school at the Ohio State Beauty Academy.

What job have you always dreamed of doing?

To be honest with you, I am living out my dream job(s). Ever since I was a little girl, I had always wanted to be a cosmetologist and a photographer. For a while I let other people’s opinions hinder me from following my dreams. I ended up going to college for nursing and it just wasn’t something that I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I didn’t like watching people battle sickness and death everyday, but I am so grateful for those strong individuals who can! I decided to go with my heart, and follow my dreams. I am so thankful that this is the path that God led me to choose. Don’t let anyone belittle your aspirations, GO AFTER THEM!

How did your fiancé propose?

I am STILL speechless about how Jacob proposed. It was seriously the cutest thing in the world and above and beyond what I ever could have dreamed up. He proposed last June when we were in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina while on vacation with his parents. He made the most beautiful video for me. The video was of him 6 months prior to and leading up to the proposal. He also had pictures of us and music playing. The second song playing is one that he WROTE for me!  the end of the video he had all of our friends a family make little videos for me. The video ended and told me to head down to the beach where he was waiting for me. I got down there to find him down on one knee in a heart full of rose petals. I couldn’t help but cry. He actually recorded the whole thing…I will link it for you if you would like to watch it!

What is your favorite place to eat?

Wow, this is a tough one! Eating is like a sport to our families haha! Jacob and I both have southern roots, so we are used to home cooked meals from our mamaws. Actually, Jacob’s family used to cook steak and lobster every year for Christmas! We just love to eat, lol. If we made a top 5 list it would include: Chick-fil-A, Chipotle, Olive Garden, Texas Roadhouse, and Tucanos. For those of you who don’t know, Tucanos is an all you can eat Brazilian Steakhouse!

Do you always do your hair and makeup?

Of course not! I’m a normal human being and there are totally days that I go without doing anything to my hair or makeup. Usually not if I’m going out somewhere, but I love lazy days at home! Today I had to edit a ton of pictures for my photography business, so I have my hair up in a messy bun and no makeup on. It’s GOOD to have no makeup days, let your face breathe! And your hair? Let it recover the damage heat does!

What is the biggest piece of advice you could give your readers?

The biggest advice that I could give anyone would be to live your life how you were called to. Meaning: follow the voice of God. He will lead you where you need to be, and everything else will fall into place. Don’t be consumed with other people’s thoughts and opinions because in reality, they don’t matter. For so long in my life, I was always trying to please others. I always wanted people to like me, and I always wanted people to agree with me. I have always let other peoples opinions sway my decisions. The truth is, none of that matters. You will never truly be happy if you are constantly trying to get other people’s approval. Someone will always disagree, someone will always think you should have done something differently, and someone will always have a reason to oppose what you stand for. LET THEM. It’s okay. You can’t please everyone, so stop trying. Find your approval in God alone…He will fulfill you.

Have a blessed day!
